“The sailors crew work were tested yesterday during the windward/leeward races for the IRC Racing Class. Scattered rain showers with 18-20 knots of wind from the North East made the race more interesting. The race continues tomorrow with a mixture of passage races around neighboring islands.”
After yesterday’s long race comes the 2nd day of the Boracay Cup Regatta Race 2 and Race 3.
For IRC Racing Class 1 Race 2, Ernesto Echauz’ Standard Insurance Centennial III claims the first place followed by Ray Ordoveza’s Karakoa on 2nd and Geoff Hill’s Antipodes on 3rd. For the Race 3, Karakoa grabs the 1st place leaving Standard Insurance Centennial III on 2nd. Geoff Hill’s Antipodes retained the 3rd spot.
For the IRC Racing Class 2 Race 2, Steve Manning and Anthony Root’s Black Baza grabs the first place followed by Martin Tanco and Ronald Tanco’s Centennial 2 for 2nd place. Jun Avecilla and Marcus Avecilla’s Selma Star grabbed the 3rd spot despite racing without the spinnaker pole. For Race 3, Black Baza remained at the top spot, followed by Centennial II on 2nd and Bobby Benares’ Sabad on 3rd.
For the Cruising Class Race 2, Michael Brinkers’ Bella Uno for first place and Xiong Ting’s Mermaid for second place
Standard Insurance Centennial III is leading the overall Boracay Cup Regatta series skippered by Allan Balladares, SEA Games skipper and gold medalist.
