Frequently Asked Questions About Membership at SAGS


Q. What do I need to do to become a member of SAGS?

A. SAGS welcomes applications for membership from local and international boaters who would like to join our active community. Two criterias are essential in joining the club:

  • Must have an active interest in boating (ownership of a boat is not required)
  • Practice highest standards of seamanship and exemplify camaraderie for the advancement of the club

Q. What if I’m new in area and I don’t know any SAGS members?

A. If you are active in boating and get involved in the local boating activities most likely you will meet someone that is a SAGS member and they can introduce you to others – “start asking around”. Social Media, such as Facebook or LinkedIn can help provide connections based on employers, professional associations and others within your network. Follow our pages and join the conversations on fb.com/subicsailing.


Q. How much does it cost to become a member?

A. The membership fee is Php1,000 per annum ($25) and renewable every fiscal year.


Q. What are membership requirements?

A. Two criterias are essential in joining the club:

  • Must have an active interest in boating (ownership of a boat is not required)
  • Practice highest standards of seamanship and exemplify camaraderie for the advancement of the club

Membership will not be approved if applying for business reasons. (For more specific questions, please contact the SAGS Secretariat)

Q. I live outside Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Can I still join as a member?

A. Yes you can join! SAGS welcomes applications for membership from local and international boaters who would like to join our active community.
