ATRAM Philippine Sailing Championship 2017 / 18

After a very successful first year a cruising class boat, Freewheeler, a Cape Carib owned and sailed by David Wheeler won the Overall Championship.

This year the Championship consists of the same 5 events as last year.

  • The Puerto Galera All Souls Regatta in November

  • The Punta Fuego Yacht Club Regatta in January

  • The PHINSAF Nasugbu to Busuanga Regatta in February (Punta Fuego to Busuanga Bay Lodge)

  • The Standard Insurance Subic to Boracay Race and Boracay Cup in February / March

  • The Subic Sailing Commodore’s Cup in April

Boats receive points for competing and for their performance in their class in each regatta.

The 2017 / 18 Championship got underway in a grand fashion at the Puerto Galera All Souls Regatta.

3 days of sailing in the Verde Island Passage and partying at the Puerto Galera Yacht Club culminated in 3 class winners. There was no IRC Class racing in Puerto Galera.

The winners in each class were:

Cruising Class

Princess Arieta   //   Dale Godkin   //   Sun Odyssey 35
