Due to the heightened coronavirus disease (COVID-19) threat, a state of emergency was declared by President Rodrigo Duterte which resulted in the ban on entry of people, ships, and aircraft coming from COVID-hit countries as well as voluntary quarantine of those who recently traveled abroad. Social Distancing Measures are imposed in the National Capital Region for thirty (30) days.
Subic Bay Freeport Zone is currently under-going thermal scanner reading for all foreign nationals at the main entry, scaled-down community activities and discouraging large gatherings. With the outbreak continuing to develop across the globe, the situation remains complex.
For the safety of the participants, supporters, staff and all related parties, after extensive discussion and careful evaluation, the Chairman’s Cup Regatta Organizing Committee has confirmed that the upcoming Chairman’s Cup Regatta in April 25-May 1 is canceled. The Far East 28R Series scheduled to take place on March 28 is also postponed temporarily.
Subic Sailing Club will remain open and is committed to ensuring the safety of our guests. Together with our hotel partner, the Lighthouse Marina Resort, we will be implementing the following protective measures:
Temperature scanning will be done at all the entrances to the Club.
Hand sanitizers, alcohol and paper napkins will be made available around the premises. Guests with a temperature reading of 38 and above will be immediately requested to proceed to the nearest healthcare facility and WILL NOT be allowed to enter.
The Management is closely coordinating with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority for protocols on handling suspected cases, and for guidance on proper cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation.
All boating equipment will be cleaned and properly sanitized.
